Adelman Expands Collaborative Practice

3/7/2008

Attorney Gerard I. Adelman recently joined Divorce Solutions of CT. a new interdisciplinary collaborative group based out of Madison, Connecticut. Unlike prior collaborative cases, this new group emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach using not only attorneys, but financial experts and mental health professionals. By having a full team available to deal with specific issues as they arise, when appropriate, significant time and money is saved. The parties can, for example, meet with the neutral financial expert without the attorneys present to develop an agreed list of the assets, liabilites and the like. What might have taken several hours in a negotiation, can be done in much less time with an trained financial expert. Parenting plans can be established in a session with a mental health professional trained in child related issues. Attorney Adelman's expansion into interdisciplinary collaborative divorce is yet another effort on his part to the needs of his clients in a productive and meaningful way. As a long-time divorce attorney, he is painfully aware of the destructive nature of litigated divorces. It is very important to him to be able to assist clients to end their marriage without destroying their family.
